We've all heard stories of animals (including cats, dogs and horses) doing amazing feats of heroism, rescuing their human partners and saving them from life-threatening injury.  As pet owners, it never surprises us because we know just how special our animal companions really are.  And it's not just about the “wild” hero stories — our pets do amazing things for us on a daily basis, whether it's keeping us company when we're sick, making us laugh, snuggling up with us in cold weather, or getting us out of bed for some exercise when we'd rather not go anywhere.  They always seem to sense just what we need in the moment, and their presence alone makes a difference in our lives.
